Rebecca Waterman, CNP, NNCP
🍒 Clinical Holistic Nutritionist | Nervous System-Informed | Pleasure-Based Nourishment
Hi, I’m Rebecca (she/her). I’m a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, a trauma-informed practitioner, and a big believer in pleasure and joy as a vital nutrient. I specialize in working with folks who don’t ‘fit the box’ and don’t want to — especially those who’ve been dismissed or burned by traditional systems, or those who have not seen themselves represented in conventional health & wellness spaces.
My work is rooted in the nervous system. I help people reconnect with their cues, rebuild body trust, and eat in ways that feel not just doable — but nourishing, satisfying, and filled with the foods you love. My goal is to work with you to find what works for you in your life, and find balance to continue to enjoy what brings you joy. Our food provides so much more than just the nutrients we need to survive, and thrive, but also contains feelings, and experiences that bring us together. Food becomes part of every one of our cells, so why not eat with love.
With over 15 years of experience in client care, operations, and food-focused community work, I bring a wide lens to healing. Before stepping fully into nutrition, I managed housing programs, co-developed training spaces for newcomer women, led wellness retail teams, and helped scale food service businesses. I know how to hold structure — and softness — at the same time.
I wanted to bring my passion for helping people to a more personal level. Attending the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, I became a Certified Nutritional Practitioner (CNP) with a Diploma in Applied Holistic Nutrition — where I nerded out on hormones, adrenal fatigue, disordered eating, and neurodivergent care, all through a trauma-informed lens. I graduated with a 4.3 GPA and a deep love for making science feel human, and healing feel like something you actually want to do.
As someone who has always relentlessly challenged the status quo and refused shrink herself to fit in - this isn’t abstract for me. I understand how overwhelming food can be when your hormones are out of whack, your body is exhausted, or your brain wants 14 snacks and no meals. This work is personal. And political.
My Approach
I take an anti-diet approach, as guilt, shame and stress is all too prevalent in our world. I strive to work with you, to get to know you and help bring a knowledge-based approach to building lasting, foundational shifts that meet you where you are, and honour what makes your experience unique.
Through my practice in-clinic at Opal Wellness, and virtually Nurture & Flo, I support people in finding systems that work with — not against — their bodies. You won’t find rigid protocols or shame here. Just practical, sensory-friendly support and rebellious compassion.
This space is for nourishment that lights you up — not burns you out.
